Question
Why would I change the default TCP port for FileMover connections?
Answer
You may want to change the default port in FileMover in order to provide added security if there are other FileMover computers on the same TCP/IP network as yours. In this case, another FileMover user on the network would be unable to make a connection to your host PC, even if your FileMover password has been compromised. Be sure to change the port in FileMover on the guest computer as well as the host, since a connection will not be possible if the ports are not the same.
